Matteo Trullu’s song for Junior Eurovision has been released. The 14-year-old artist will represent Italy with ‘Che cos’è l’amore?’ (“What Is Love?”).
The singer from Cagliari won the fourth season of The Voice Kids Italy, earning the chance to represent the country at Junior Eurovision 2026.
According to RAI, the Italian broadcaster, ‘Che cos’è l’amore?’ is a song about the questions, emotions and small discoveries that come with growing up. Through simple, everyday images, it seeks to give meaning to love without providing a definitive answer, as it is perhaps something we gradually learn to recognise as we experience it.
The song was written by Gregorio Castellani, Fabio Zanolini and Luca Faccini, published by The Saifam Group and released by Universal Music Italia.
Matteo Trullu’s performance is brought to life under the creative direction of Alex Uhlmann of myLand Music, whose extensive international experience as a singer, musician and songwriter across the pop and rock landscape is complemented by his work as Creative Director for major national and international events. His distinctive artistic vision adds another layer of depth, identity and impact to Matteo’s performance.
Matteo Trullu will now follow in the footsteps of ‘Rockstar’ Leonardo Giovannangeli, who represented Italy at the Junior Eurovision Song Contest 2025 in Tbilisi, Georgia. Junior Eurovision 2026 will take place on 24 October at the Malta Fairs and Conventions Centre in Ta’ Qali, Malta.
