JESC 2025: 18 countries confirmed for Tbilisi

The European Broadcasting Union (EBU) and Georgian broadcaster GPB have officially revealed the 18 countries that will take part in the 23rd Junior Eurovision Song Contest in Tbilisi on Saturday, 13 December.

Young talents aged between 9 and 14 will gather in the Georgian capital to share their songs and creativity, celebrating the Contest’s motto United by Music with millions of viewers across Europe.

The participating countries and their broadcasters are: Albania (RTSH), Armenia (AMPTV), Cyprus (CyBC), Azerbaijan (Ictimai), Croatia (HRT), France (France Télévisions), Georgia (GPB – host broadcaster), Ireland (TG4), Italy (Rai), Malta (PBS), Montenegro (RTCG), Netherlands (AVROTROS), North Macedonia (MKRTV), Poland (TVP), Portugal (RTP), San Marino (SMRTV), Spain (RTVE), and Ukraine (Suspilne).

The 2025 edition will see the return of three countries to the competition. Montenegro last competed in 2015, Croatia in 2014 (having won the very first Junior Eurovision in 2003), and Azerbaijan for the first time since 2021.

GPB has also unveiled today the stage design for Tbilisi 2025, which merges Georgia’s cultural heritage with the energy of young performers. At its centre is a striking representation of the Doli, the traditional folk drum, while sculptural forms around it are inspired by Georgia’s mountains, castles, fortified villages, and towers.

“The stage draws from Georgia’s great heritage while also celebrating the dynamism of the young performers that will be singing on it,” the broadcaster explained. “The result is a setting that merges the timeless with the modern: a cultural heartbeat reimagined for a new generation of artists.”

Alongside the stage, the Junior Eurovision 2025 theme art has also been revealed. United by Music becomes the Contest’s permanent slogan and is represented in a dynamic wordmark that embodies "rhythm, freedom, and youthful energy". Each letter breaks into spontaneous, handwritten shapes, reflecting the creativity of the young artists, while vibrant colours symbolise diversity, inclusion, and collective celebration.

“We are thrilled to welcome 18 talented young artists and their delegations to Tbilisi. The Junior Eurovision Song Contest is a unique showcase of youthful creativity and cultural diversity, and every year it reminds us of the boundless energy and imagination of Europe’s next generation", said Martin Green, Director of the Junior Eurovision Song Contest.

Natia Mshvenieradze, Executive Producer for GPB, added: “It is a great honour to welcome you all to our beautiful country, Georgia. We are proud to host Europe’s most joyful and inspiring music event already for the second time. This year’s show will be the result of months of dedication, creativity, and teamwork, bringing together the very best of our production, stage design, and technical excellence. We warmly welcome the 18 participating broadcaster delegations and extend our kindest wishes to their young representatives. Welcome again and let the magic of music unite us all!"

The Junior Eurovision Song Contest 2025 will take place at 17:00 CET on Saturday, 13 December, live from the Olympic Palace in Tbilisi. GPB last hosted the event in 2017. Georgia is now the most successful country in Junior Eurovision history, claiming its fourth victory in 2024 through Andria Putkaradze with his song To My Mom, following earlier wins by Bzikebi (2008), Candy and Candy Music (2011), and Mariam Mamadashvili (2016).
