How to watch Philippine Selection Night
Philippine Selection Night will take place on Sunday, 30 August, at 15:45 CEST (21:45 PHT) and is expected to run for approximately two hours.
The show will be broadcast in the Philippines through ABS-CBN, ALLTV2 and Kapamilya Channel. International viewers will also be able to watch the selection live through the official Eurovision Song Contest YouTube channel.
The show will be hosted by Filipino entertainer Vice Ganda, who is known for his extensive television and live-event hosting career and as one of the hosts of the popular programme 'It's Showtime'.
Meanwhile, Alexa Ilacad will take on green room duties, where she will speak to the ten competing artists throughout the show.
How will the voting work?
International fans will have the opportunity to directly influence the result of 'Philippine Selection Night'.
Voting will be open to viewers from anywhere in the world through the Eurovision Asia website, with each user receiving eight free votes.
There is, however, one important rule: voters must distribute their eight votes across at least three different songs. Those wishing to vote more can purchase an additional ten votes, with 18 votes per user being the maximum.
The final result will be determined by three voting components:
- 40% – Professional jury
- 40% – Filipino public vote
- 20% – Rest of the World vote
The voting window will open during the live broadcast, with Vice Ganda announcing when viewers can cast their votes.
Ten artists compete for the Philippine ticket
A total of ten songs are competing to become the Philippines' first Eurovision Song Contest Asia entry.
All ten entries are already available to listen to ahead of Sunday's show, giving fans the chance to familiarise themselves with the competing songs before the voting opens.
The winner of Philippine Selection Night will subsequently become the third confirmed entry for the inaugural Eurovision Song Contest Asia, joining the representatives already selected by Bhutan and Malaysia. Listen to the competing songs here.
