Spain has unveiled its entry for the Junior Eurovision Song Contest 2026, introducing 10-year-old Lucas Paulano and his song 'Cuore Bello (Te Quiero, Te Quiero)' ahead of this year’s contest in Malta.
Selected internally by RTVE, Lucas will bring a distinctly Mediterranean flavour to the Junior Eurovision stage with a song that blends the sound of 1970s Spanish music with contemporary pop production.
A love song in two languages
'Cuore Bello (Te Quiero, Te Quiero)' moves between Spanish and Italian, creating a bilingual narrative centred on love, memories and the people who leave a lasting mark on our lives.
Its title — meaning 'Beautiful Heart (I Love You, I Love You)' — immediately sets the emotional direction of the song, while the combination of Spanish musical influences and Italian phrases gives the entry its own distinctive character.
The song was officially released by RTVE today, marking Lucas Paulano’s first musical step towards the Junior Eurovision stage.
Lucas Paulano will close the contest
Lucas will have a particularly prominent position in the running order in Malta. Spain has been drawn to perform 16th and last, meaning 'Cuore Bello (Te Quiero, Te Quiero)' will bring this year’s competition to a close.
For his Junior Eurovision debut, Lucas will therefore have the final word of the contest, with a song that connects a nostalgic Spanish sound with a modern production and a bilingual lyrical approach.
The Junior Eurovision Song Contest 2026 will take place in Malta, where young artists from across Europe and beyond will come together to compete for this year’s title.
