Montenegro has officially selected Mija Vujović as its representative for the Junior Eurovision Song Contest 2026, which will take place on 24 October in Ta' Qali, Malta.
The nine-year-old singer from Podgorica was chosen following a series of successful appearances at children's music festivals across Montenegro and the wider region, where she impressed with her vocal ability, stage presence and confidence in front of audiences.
By taking part in Junior Eurovision once again, Montenegro's public broadcaster RTCG continues its commitment to giving young artists the opportunity to perform on an international stage while showcasing the country's music and creative talent to millions of viewers across Europe and beyond.
Mija recently completed the fifth grade at the British School in Podgorica and speaks both English and French. Music, dance and the arts have been part of her life from an early age.
Alongside singing and dancing, she also enjoys drawing, painting and reciting poetry. She is a member of the children's choir Zvezdice and earlier this year participated in the educational audiovisual project Razglednica Podgorice za djecu by Ljubo Jovović.
Despite her young age, Mija has already collected several awards.
She won the First Prize for Interpretation at the international festival Dok teče Lašva on her debut before earning the Second Prize in the same category the following year. She also received the Best Stage Performance award at Naša radost and the Professional Jury Award at Zlatna pahulja 2025.
Her achievements also include second place for interpretation at the Serbian festival Ta se pesma ljubav zove in Kikinda, where she additionally received awards from both the children's jury and the children's choir Čuperak.
Last year, she also served as a member of the children's jury at Naša radost.
Further details about the song Mija will perform at Junior Eurovision 2026 are expected to be announced in the coming weeks.
