RTVE has announced that Lucas Paulano will represent Spain at the Junior Eurovision Song Contest 2026, which will take place on October 24 in Ta' Qali, Malta.
The 10-year-old singer from Jaén, Andalusia, was unveiled during the season finale of El perro andaluz on La 1. Spain continues to use an internal selection process for Junior Eurovision, a method it has followed since returning to the contest in 2019.
During his official presentation, Lucas performed 'Grande Amore', marking the beginning of his journey to Malta. However, the song he will compete with at Junior Eurovision 2026 has yet to be revealed.
Lucas Paulano rose to prominence after winning the tenth season of La Voz Kids in 2025, establishing himself as one of Spain's most promising young artists.
At the Junior Eurovision Song Contest 2025, Spain was represented by Gonzalo Pinillos with 'Érase una vez (Once Upon a Time)'. He finished fifth with 152 points, including the maximum 12 points from the Portuguese jury.
The Junior Eurovision Song Contest 2026 will be held at the Malta Fairs and Convention Centre in Ta' Qali. It will be the third time Malta has hosted the event, making it the first country to do so. Sixteen countries are set to compete.
