Georgia has selected Davit Lomidze as its representative for the Junior Eurovision Song Contest 2026, set to take place in Malta on 24 October.
Davit earned the ticket to Junior Eurovision after winning the latest edition of Ranina, Georgia's long-running talent competition used to select the country's representative for the contest.
The young singer secured victory following a six-stage selection process. In the final, he competed against Liliana Chachanidze and Zurab Naskidashvili, with the winner determined by a professional jury consisting of Nato Metonidze, Davit Tsintsadze and Sopho Khalvashi, who represented Georgia at the Eurovision Song Contest 2007.
For his winning performance, Davit sang a cover version of a song from the film Good People, originally composed by Revaz Lagidze.
While Georgia has confirmed its artist for Junior Eurovision 2026, details regarding the country's entry have yet to be revealed. The song will be written and composed in the coming months before being officially presented by Georgian Public Broadcaster (GPB).
The Ranina trophy was handed over to Davit by Anita Abgariani, who represented Georgia at the Junior Eurovision Song Contest 2025 with Shine Like a Star. Competing on home soil in Tbilisi, Anita finished in second place with 176 points.
Georgia remains the most successful country in Junior Eurovision history, having won the contest on four occasions. The country's victories came in 2008 with Bzikebi and 'Bzz', in 2011 with Candy and 'Candy Music', in 2016 with Mariam Mamadashvili and 'Mzeo', and most recently in 2024 when Andria Putkaradze triumphed with 'To My Mom'.
