Continuing its usual internal selection process since returning in 2018, broadcaster France Télévisions announced this past Saturday, 20 June, the selection of Alec for this year’s contest. The 12-year-old singer was discovered through the broadcaster’s popular singing competition show ‘N’oubliez Pas Les Enfants’ just last year.
Aside from singing, which has played a big part in his artistic journey, Burette also enjoys composing and began playing instruments at an even younger age, quickly developing his skills with the piano and guitar. This versatility, combined with his stage presence and personality, helped convince France Télévisions to choose him as the country’s representative for the upcoming contest.
France will be taking part in the Junior Eurovision Song Contest for the 10th time. As of now, there is no information on the song the young performer will defend, with its release expected to be announced in the coming weeks.
The 24th edition of the Junior Eurovision Song Contest will be held on Saturday, 24 October, in Ta’ Qali, Malta.
