Romania: Ten finalists selected for Selecția Națională 2026

Romanian broadcaster TVR has confirmed the ten finalists advancing to the final stage of Selecția Națională 2026. Following three days of live auditions before an expert jury panel, 10 acts were officially selected to compete in the final. In addition, a wildcard round is currently underway.

Out of the 101 songs submitted to the competition, 68 were shortlisted to take part in an extensive live audition process, which can be watched here. These auditions were held at the TVR studios between 9 and 12 February. The selected finalists are:

Alejandro Zandes & Emil Rengle – ‘Bailando solo’

Alexandra Căpitănescu – ‘Choke Me’

Edward Maya x LavBbe x Costi – ‘Everybody Needs Somebody’

Emy Alupei – ‘Tili Bom’

HVNDS – ‘Dor’

Monica Odagiu – ‘Fereastră pentru un orb’

Olivia Addams – ‘Croco’

Robert Lukian – ‘Fire to the Lies’

Vanu – ‘Therapy Enemy’

Yguana – ‘Happy Birthday’

An eleventh contestant will complete the final line-up of Selecția Națională 2026, with the decision resting entirely with the public. Viewers can listen to the wildcard entries here. The voting mechanism is fairly simple: the entry with the most YouTube views by Sunday will secure the remaining spot. The contestants are:

Alexa & Aria Moon – ‘IELE’

Antonio Pican – ‘Humans’

Bogdan Medvedi – ‘Broken Heart’

Impact – ‘Bengalo’

WRS – ‘All the Way’

The final of Selecția Națională 2026 is scheduled to take place on 4 March, with the winner decided exclusively by a jury, featuring Andreea Bălan, Andrei Tudor, Cristian Marica Rădoi, Cristian Tarcea, Doru Ionescu, Elena Popa and Marius Dia.
