With only a few hours to go until the Junior Eurovision Song Contest 2025, the countdown is almost over. As the excitement builds, our team of correspondents continues to explore this year’s line-up, diving into the songs, voices and stories that will soon light up the Junior Eurovision stage. Thoughts, impressions and a few surprises are all part of the journey.
Across six articles, we’re taking a country-by-country look at all the competing entries. In this fourth round, the spotlight turns to Montenegro, Georgia and San Marino — three countries arriving with distinct musical identities and very different ways of telling their stories, just in time for today’s big moment.
Montenegro:
Amine Othmani - I can see that the fandom is kind of hard and severe with this song. I really appreciate it. It’s sweet, sincere and not over the top. It’s a yes for me.
Yaghia Morales - The lyrics are poetic and beautiful, but the song itself is too slow for me in the beginning before getting this Balkan ballad vibe. Also the message of the song is very important.
Antonio Soriano - A Balkan ballad has joined the chat. It’s not really my style, but I think Asja will perform the song with a lot of strength, and I predict a very good result for them.
Lucas Hey - A very beautiful ballad. The entry is charming. I’m very receptive to Balkan ballads, so it naturally lands in my top two! I hope it achieves a good result.
Lucas West - This one is really not my cup of tea. It’s very personal, I know some people might like this type of song, but it’s not for me. Still, I do think the lyrics are nice.
William Montilla - A classic Balkan ballad vibe, certainly a good song with good vocals, but somehow a forgettable entry.
Georgia:
Amine Othmani - Well Georgia didn’t come to play, they’re here for a second win. It’s creative and impressive. The vocals are interesting. Great!
Yaghia Morales - I like the instrumentalization but the song overall doesn't really convince me. However, I think it may do well in the contest.
Antonio Soriano - I like it, one of the best vocals of the season. I think it’s a good option as a host entry and they’ll get good score once again.
Lucas Hey - A very well-produced and striking song, but not one of my favourites this year. Georgia could aim for a top 5.
Lucas West - I need to see it live, because I really like how it sounds in the video version! The lyrics are beautiful and they remind me a little bit of last year.
William Montilla - Strong vocals — if combined with good staging, this can go far in the competition.
San Marino:
Amine Othmani - It’s surely one of my favorite songs this year. I appreciate the vibe, it’s pop. The hook is not really here. I just hope she won’t disappoint on live.
Yaghia Morales - I like it, the lyrics are optimistic, the voice of Martina is nice to listen to and it really suits the song. It may feel a little bit repetitive but it's a nice song.
Antonio Soriano - Another one of my favorites. It reminds me a lot to Miley Cyrus, which is why I’m in love with it. I could easily see San Marino getting their first victory in the contest, and I’d be super happy.
Lucas Hey - A very good ballad. I was very surprised by San Marino, but I expected it once I saw the songwriting team (Eliza G, who is behind the song, was my winner of the Romanian selection in 2022 with “The Other Half Of Me”). A personal favourite.
Lucas West - This one gives me country song vibes, quite a surprise, as I wouldn’t expect a song like this from San Marino! It’s not a bad song at all, but it does feel quite repetitive, and I’m not sure it will go very far this year.
William Montilla - A great song that balances the right elements and keeps the listener interested. Good vocals and a catchy chorus.
