At just eleven years old, Lou is preparing for one of the biggest moments of her young career: representing France at the Junior Eurovision Song Contest 2024. When we spoke with her — only days before she left for Tbilisi — she showed exactly why France chose her. She is grounded, warm and genuinely passionate about performing.
Many French viewers already discovered her through La France a un incroyable talent, and she has even tried acting. But Junior Eurovision is something new: a larger stage, a faster rhythm, and a global audience. Lou approaches it with excitement and a calm confidence far beyond her age.
Lou’s road to Junior Eurovision didn’t happen instantly. She auditioned last year but wasn’t selected. Instead of giving up, she came back again this year, went through three auditions, and finally received a call asking her to attend what she believed was the “final round”.
Only in the room did she realise it wasn’t an audition at all — it was the announcement. She would represent France.
Her reaction was immediate and emotional: surprise, joy, and tears.
“It’s really the kind of song that I loved.”
One line, in particular, stands out to her: “Et moi j’ai peur de rien”
Lou has a small tradition before going on stage: she thinks about her family. She also carries a lucky charm — a small white stone her mother gave her. She mentions that the last time she had it in her pocket, she won a contest. Whether it’s luck or comfort, it clearly means a lot to her.
France will perform near the end of the running order. Some young artists might prefer to go early, but Lou is genuinely happy with the late slot. She believes performing first is more stressful, while going later gives her more time to relax and focus.
As for the performance itself, she keeps everything secret. She confirms she has chosen her outfit but refuses to say whether she will be alone on stage — “It’s a huge surprise,” she says with a smile.
This trip marks her first time in Georgia. Although rehearsals will fill most of her schedule, she hopes to have at least a day or two to enjoy the country. She also confirms she will film her postcard while she’s there.
Lou’s playlist is rich and varied. She currently listens to Billie Eilish, Lady Gaga, Roshi, Louane and Stromae. It’s a mix that reflects both softness and energy — much like her own artistic style.
She has already listened to all the songs in this year’s Junior Eurovision and says Ukraine’s 'Motanka' is her favourite. She also loves the entries from Poland, Armenia and Azerbaijan.
The meeting was a surprise and left a deep impression on her. Louane gave her advice — but Lou prefers to keep those words private.
When asked about her plans after Junior Eurovision, or a possible future on the Eurovision adult stage, Lou answers simply and honestly: she doesn’t know yet. She wants to enjoy this experience fully before thinking about the next steps.
Before ending, she shares a message from the heart:
“To make my dream come true, vote for France on the website JESC.tv and thank you for your support.”
The vote opens on 12 December, just hours before the contest.
