After three previous attempts to reach Junior Eurovision, 13-year-old Naré Kerobyan will finally take the stage for Armenia in Malta.
Armenia has chosen Naré Kerobyan as its representative for the Junior Eurovision Song Contest 2026, with the 13-year-old set to compete in this year’s contest in Ta’ Qali.
Her selection was announced today by Armenian public broadcaster AMPTV, following a multi-stage process that attracted more than 100 applications from young performers across the country. A total of 40 candidates progressed to the second stage, where they were assessed by an eight-member jury.
Among those involved in the process was Rosa Linn, who represented Armenia at Eurovision 2022 with 'Snap'. An international jury also took part in the selection, helping determine the finalists.
Naré’s song for Junior Eurovision 2026 will be released later today at 19:00 CEST (20:00 Armenian time).
A fourth attempt finally leads to Malta
Naré’s road to Junior Eurovision has been a long one. The young singer first attempted to make it to the contest in 2022, before returning to the Armenian selection the following year.
In 2023, aged just 10, she performed 'Fallin' by Alicia Keys, but failed to progress to the next stage of the competition. Now, after another attempt in 2024, Naré has finally secured the Armenian ticket — making 2026 her fourth attempt to reach Junior Eurovision.
Born Naré Kerobyan, the 13-year-old is the daughter of businessman and former Armenian Minister of Economy Vahan Kerobyan and Mariam Harutyunyan.
Her selection continues Armenia’s long-standing presence at Junior Eurovision, where the country has established itself as one of the competition’s most successful participants.
Armenia’s strong Junior Eurovision record
Since debuting in 2007, Armenia has achieved ten top-three finishes and claimed the Junior Eurovision trophy twice.
Vladimir Arzumanyan delivered the country’s first victory in 2010 with 'Mama', while Maléna secured Armenia’s second title in 2021 with 'Qami Qami'.
Armenia has also hosted the competition twice, with Yerevan welcoming Junior Eurovision in 2011 and 2022.
Last year, Albert represented Armenia with 'Brave Heart', finishing fourth with 175 points.
Naré will now represent Armenia on home soil? No — in Malta, as Junior Eurovision 2026 heads to the Malta Fairs & Conventions Centre (MFCC) in Ta’ Qali on 24 October.
With 16 countries currently set to compete, Naré will be hoping that her fourth attempt proves to be the one that takes her all the way.
