Aina Abdul will fly the Malaysian flag in Bangkok when the competition takes place on Saturday, 14 November 2026.
The announcement was made during the 40th edition of AJL: Anugerah Juara Lagu, one of Malaysia's most prominent annual music events. Ten artists competed in this year's edition, which took place on Saturday, 15 August, with the winner receiving an additional prize: the opportunity to represent Malaysia on an international stage at Eurovision Song Contest Asia.
Broadcast live from Unifi Arena in Bukit Jalil, the anniversary edition of AJL celebrated four decades of Malaysian music while also looking towards the future of the country's music scene. It was during the gala that Aina Abdul was revealed as Malaysia's choice for the inaugural Asian contest.
Further details about Aina's Eurovision Song Contest Asia entry and her journey towards Bangkok are expected to be revealed on Sunday, 16 August, through the competition's official social media channels.
Aina Abdul becomes the second confirmed artist for Eurovision Song Contest Asia 2026. Earlier this week, on 11 August, Nyendra won Bhutan's inaugural Rhythm of Bhutan selection with 'Lhayi Semo', becoming the first artist announced for the competition.
