Ukraine: Six acts compete for Vidbir wildcard

Suspilne has released the songs from the artists competing for the wildcard spot at Ukraine's national selection, Vidbir. The six longlisted entries are now available on the Eurovision Ukraine YouTube channel and are open for public voting over the coming days.

As previously reported in December, the Ukrainian public broadcaster had already announced the nine finalists for Vidbir 2026. They are Jerry Heil, LAUD, LELÉKA, MOLODI, Monokate, Mr. Vel, The Elliens, Valeriya Force and ShchukaRyba. The tenth and final contestant will be chosen through a public vote.

Voting for the Vidbir 2026 wildcard is taking place via the Diia app, where Ukrainians can cast their votes until 13 January. The results are expected to be announced by 15 January.

Following a draw among the six competing artists, the songs in the wildcard selection are:

1. KHAYAT — 'Hertzi'

2. Karyotype — 'DNA'

3. MON FIA — 'Do You Hear Me?'

4. ANSTAY — 'by the way'

5. Marta Adamchuk — 'Silvered Pines'

6. OKS — 'SAY IT ALL'

Meanwhile, Suspilne has confirmed that the Vidbir final will take place on 7 February. The winner will be determined through a combination of public voting and a professional jury, deciding who will succeed Ziferblat, last year’s winner with 'Bird of Pray'.

In addition to the competition itself, Vidbir has also been used in recent years as a platform for humanitarian initiatives, and this year’s show will support Superhumans, a charity providing prosthetics for veterans.
