Bulgarian national broadcaster BNT has announced the 15 artists who will take part in Bulgaria’s national selection for 2026.
According to BNT, the artists were invited directly following information provided by PROPHON on the 40 most broadcast Bulgarian artists on radio and television over the past eight months. Based on these data, BNT selected the acts to compete in the national selection.
The 15 artists are DARA, Dara Ekimova, DIA, Elizabet, Fiki, Innerglow, Kerana & the Cosmonauts, Mihaela Marinova, Mihaela Fileva, Molets, MONA, Preyah, Roksana, VALL and Veniamin.
The selection will consist of three live shows, all broadcast on BNT 1. The first show will take place on 24 January at 20:00 CET, with all 15 artists performing a song from their back catalogue. A five-member jury will award between one and five points to each performance, while the public will be able to vote once via the BNT website. The public’s favourite will receive 15 points, with one point going to the least voted act. The seven highest-scoring artists will qualify for the next stage, with all tied acts in seventh place also advancing.
The second show is scheduled for 31 January at 20:00 CET. The seven qualified artists will perform again, once more presenting songs from their back catalogue. Jury voting will follow the same system, while the public vote will award between one and seven points. The artist with the highest combined score will be selected and progress to the final stage.
The final will be held on 28 February at 20:00 CET. The selected artist will perform three songs created specifically for the competition. A jury of ten members and the public will vote, with points converted on a scale from one to three. The song with the highest total will be chosen as the winning entry.
