Luxembourg: Eight artists announced for Luxembourg Song Contest 2026

Luxembourg’s national selection for the Eurovision Song Contest is set for its third edition, and broadcaster RTL has revealed the eight acts competing for a chance to represent the country in Vienna next May. The Luxembourg Song Contest 2026 will take place on 24 January, once again at the Rockhal in Esch-sur-Alzette.

According to the official announcement, the eight finalists were chosen from 83 submitted compositions following a competitive audition process held earlier this month. An international jury made up of professionals connected to the Eurovision world selected the entries that will now move on to the televised final. The competing songs will be released on streaming platforms in December.

The 2026 lineup brings together a diverse mix of performers and musical styles, ranging from pop and rock to soul and jazz influences. The finalists are: Irem, Steve Castile, Hugo One, ShiroKuro, Eva Marija, Andrew the Martian, Daryss and Luzac.

Irem, trained in classical music and jazz dance, has become a regular presence on Luxembourg’s live scene, while Steve Castile combines songwriting with his studies in Cultural Media Studies. Hugo One, known for his soulful blend of pop and disco, has performed at venues including the Philharmonie and Luxembourg Pride. ShiroKuro, a Liège-based trio, unites classical training with contemporary rock sounds.

Eva Marija, inspired by Alexander Rybak’s Fairytale, bridges Luxembourgish and Slovenian influences in her songwriting. Andrew the Martian, born in Portugal and self-taught, focuses on emotional authenticity in his music. Daryss brings a background in theatre and musical storytelling, and Luzac, who placed third in the 2025 contest, returns after collaborating with several local artists.

Luxembourg’s Song Contest returned in 2024 after three decades away from Eurovision. Its two previous winners - TALI with 'Fighter' (2024) and Laura Thorn with 'La Poupée Monte Le Son' (2025) - both reached the Eurovision Grand Final, marking a strong comeback on the European stage.
