JESC 2025: Leonardo Giovannangeli will represent Italy in Tbilisi

Italy has chosen its young star for the Junior Eurovision Song Contest 2025. Leonardo Giovannangeli, an 11-year-old from Rome and finalist in the latest edition of The Voice Kids, will take the stage in Tbilisi, Georgia, with his song 'Rockstar', produced by Universal Music Italia. The contest will be held on Saturday, 13 December.

Leonardo has already made a name for himself as a natural performer. Inspired by his idol Michael Jackson, he combines singing with a wide range of passions, including dancing, acting, wrestling, and even an impressive knowledge of dinosaurs. His charisma and versatility promise to deliver a fresh and captivating performance at this year’s contest.

The 2025 edition marks the 23rd Junior Eurovision, hosted by the Georgian Public Broadcaster (GPB) in the capital Tbilisi under the auspices of the European Broadcasting Union (EBU). Following last year’s victory in Madrid with Andria Putkaradze’s 'To My Mom', Georgia welcomes the contest for the second time and reaffirms its record as the most successful country in Junior Eurovision history, with four wins since 2007.

Italian broadcaster Rai Kids will oversee the national production. The grand final will be aired live on Rai and streamed on RaiPlay on 13 December, with exclusive behind-the-scenes content available on RaiPlay in the days leading up to the show. To ensure accessibility, the broadcast will include subtitles and audio description provided by Rai Pubblica Utilità.

The project is coordinated by Rai’s International Relations and European Affairs Department, working closely with GPB, the EBU, and other participating delegations to support Italy’s journey to Tbilisi.
